Joy to the World

Merry Christmas! I can hardly believe we are only a week away from Christmas! Today I am going to share a quick week 3 advent post from my Bible. I know we are all running around like crazy in all the busyness of Christmas, but it is so important to take just a few moments and really prepare your heart and mind.

If you haven’t noticed I have been using Christmas carols as the the titles of my pages and journaling the prompt for that week in the margins. I have loved using the Names and Candles digital printable, and this week Amber added a new set titled Watercolor advent. I started by printing the ornaments at 40% and fussy cut them so I could fit more adorable watercolor goodness on the page. Then I hand lettered the title and used my offset alpha set to fill in the words to and the. I really love doodling so I pulled in some doodled garland around the page and used the star stamp from the Emmanuel stamp set. I added a little watercolor and journaling and this page was complete. This page may look complicated but for me, it only took about 20 minutes.

FullSizeRender-252Matthew 2:10 “When they saw the star they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy.” I can’t even imagine how joyful these people were to finally after hundreds of years the prophesy of a Savior would finally come to pass.  Christmas is a joyful time, but that joy doesn’t come from lights, decorations or cookies. It comes from Emmanuel who came down as flesh to dwell among us and ultimately became our prefect sacrificial lamb. We can rejoice because our Father gave us a beautiful gift of love, and all we need to do is tear off that paper like an excited 3 year old and hug it tight and never let that love go.

I hope and pray you all have a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year! If you would like to follow my creative and crafty adventures you can follow me on Instagram @creativegurl85
