Hello! It’s Donna here, checking in from the sunny side of the world. (Well, for the next few months anyway, until the northern hemisphere has its turn again)

I’ve made a simple Christmas card using the Emmanuel stamp set, and I think it’s one of my favourite cards for this year. Christmas time is one of real joy, as we celebrate Jesus’ birth. I have to work hard to make sure this joy doesn’t get swamped in all the Christmas activity, but it’s great to celebrate with our Church Christmas services, and to make special times in our family to prepare for this celebration. I’m still working out what that means, now that my children are older, but I definitely want our Christmas focus to be on Jesus.

I’ve used gold embossing powder on the image and the sentiment, and I cut and popped up the candle image, leaving a small border around the outside. I’ve put a little gold thread behind the image too. That thread took an awfully long time to get placed so that it looked nice and random! Who would have thought?

A small strip of gold card stock down the left hand side completed the card, which is one I’m definitely going to repeat. That lovely simplicity is what I want for all of my Christmas celebrating. ( actually for all of my life, but I suspect that is going to take more time!!!)

I hope this inspired you to get crafty but also to step back and check where your focus is this Christmas.

Until next time, may your Christmas be filled with the love of Christ,
