Hi friends this week is the second week of advent. This week my bible studies will be focused on the love Jesus has for us. Life has started to get a little hectic as we zoom ever closer to Christmas, so this page is a super quick, simple page, and yet the heart behind the pretties is big.
Before we start if you haven’t downloaded the free advent printable in the shop, what are you doing?…quick go get them..seriously they are free! Ok now moving on…I used those printable as the basis of my page, and added some hand lettering…because that has so been my jam lately. I pulled out my offset alphas to finish out the title and added a little doodling around the verses I am dwelling on this week. Then the most important part…the journaling. I love get my thoughts down so I or anyone else can look back and see the work going on in my heart and mind.
Luke 2:1-7 “In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to his own town to register. So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.”
Our focus should not stop at the cute little baby in the manger. The cross needs to be on our minds, as this was the greatest gift and act of love ever given. God’s heart was so overwhelmed with love that he became a needy baby, completely dependent on sinful humans. He would face suffering and ugliness so he could rescue his people. This is what true love looks like!
